Privacy Policy

This policy describes how SVSeeker.com and the SV Seeker Comment Harvest application use information obtained from visitors and from the Instagram account @sailingvesselseeker.

Information we collect

When the Instagram integration is used, it may retrieve information made available through the Instagram API, including the SV Seeker account profile, media identifiers and links, public comments and replies, commenter usernames or identifiers supplied by Instagram, comment text, and timestamps. The website may also receive ordinary technical server logs and information that a visitor voluntarily submits, such as an email address for Seeker updates.

How we use information

Instagram information is used to retrieve and review comments on SV Seeker's own posts, respond to those comments, and display selected public comments with the related SV Seeker videos or pages. If enabled, the integration may also be used to publish or manage content on the SV Seeker Instagram account. We do not sell or rent personal information or use it for unrelated advertising.

Storage and security

The Instagram access token is kept in the private administration environment and is not placed in the public website or its page source. Imported public comments may be stored in the SV Seeker Knowledge archive. Comments selected by an administrator may be published on SVSeeker.com; comments that are held or rejected are not published. Reasonable safeguards are used to protect stored information, but no Internet or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Sharing and retention

Information is shared only with service providers needed to operate the site and integration, including Meta/Instagram and website hosting providers, or when required by law. Public Instagram content selected for the archive may be republished on SVSeeker.com. Information is retained while it remains useful for the SV Seeker archive or is needed to operate the service, subject to reasonable correction or deletion requests.

Data deletion requests

To request removal of information associated with you, email svseeker@ymail.com with the subject SV Seeker Data Deletion. Include your Instagram username and a link or description identifying the comment or other material. We will review the request and remove applicable information from the active site and archive where legally and technically appropriate.

Children

SVSeeker.com is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the website or its integrations change. The current version and effective date will remain available on this page.
